Is Tony the same as a Bud Foster? Great implementer of the system but was Kevin the sales guy who got the donations and the recruits? Can Tony recruit? Can Tony work the donors and be the 'face of the program'?It is a different skill set, or at least a different emphasis of skills than what he has been doing. Can he do it? Yeah I think so. Does he bring continuity? Absolutely. But didn't Bud bring continuity? What about some name stud coach and comp Robie up if they want him to stay? Not sure that is the answer but it LOOKS like the football analogy but the head guy would have to want him and not sure he wants to stay if he doesn't get the head job. All this is why Whit gets the big bucks. I personally really like Tony and think he would do a good job for us. But compared to who else? Poplizio? Mary Perry? Hell I don't even know the pool... Who does Tony propose for his staff if St. John and Zadick go back to Iowa? Shouldn't that be part of the equation? If he puts together an all star team, shouldn't that get strong consideration?Gets tougher then. I think this is what people are thinking about.
